Brown Corrosion Services, Inc. offers both sand detection (external acoustic detection) of solids and sands flowing through lines as well as internal erosion detection probes. Though often sand production can correlate with internal erosion issues, this is not always the case - small amounts of sand can cause fast acting, erosion failures; large amounts of sand can sometimes cause minimal erosion damage.
Often systems need both views (internal erosion and externally detected solids monitoring) to control their flow parameters for optimal flow with minimal system damage.
